Practical Art is a friendly retail and gallery space featuring 100% locally-made wares in wood, fiber, ceramic, glass, metal, and up-cycled materials. All of our work is produced by Arizona artisans—we have over 100 of them producing work for you. We carry art that is practical in some way—everything from kitchen tools to home and office items, soap, clothing, furniture, jewelry, and more.
Our artists make quality, functional work for daily life out of raw materials.
Artists start with a raw material.
They get those creative juices spinning and ...
Whala! Out comes a new
functional piece with personality.
Thank you for your interest in having your work at Practical Art! If you are a local artisan making functional work featuring superb craftsmanship, or if you're an emerging local artist creating visual art wall pieces and are interested in a month long solo show at Practical Art, visit our Interested artists page here.
Along with the regularly featured functional art by over 125 Arizona artists, we also host an emerging Arizona visual artist each month for solo shows on our gallery wall. Check our events pages to find out more about these shows and other events we regularly host.
We work to be a community space hosting many different events, including our Charity Pie night, which in 2014, raised more than $10,000 for local non-profit organizations.
Our original founder, Jane Reddin was a dedicated supporter of recycling. As a way to honor her efforts, we’ve teamed up with local businesses to create a recycle program, the goal of which is to create an artist grant for a public art project using recycled materials.
