Our Story

Our Story

Practical Art was founded in 2008 by Jane Reddin. After Jane left a successful law career, she set out to create a space in Phoenix for the community specifically centered around artists and their work.

When Jane passed away in February 2011 after an inspiring battle with leukemia, she left Practical Art to Lisa Olson. Jane’s belief in Lisa and her love for the arts continue to be the driving force behind everything Practical Art has become.

Now, after 16 years, our shop carries work made by over 200+ Arizona artists and a few artists from around the world. In our continued effort to support Jane's legacy, we support our local artists and offer focused events to help create a thriving community for all of us to engage in and enjoy.

Lisa has a bachelor's degree in Photography from ASU. She photographs all the products for the website!

Philanthropy

Karen has made nearly 3,000 pies! With her efforts and your love of pie, our Community Pie Night events have raised nearly $100,000 for the community. We’ve made countless connections, recruited volunteers and helped launched projects!
