A 28 page catalog created for the Print & Protest exhibit at Practical Art.

Featuring student work from three years of Print and the Protest, a course Jacob Meders and Michael Stancliff co-teach on the West Valley Campus of Arizona State University. With our friend and colleague, Dr. Karla Murphy, we created the course to merge art and literature and give students an opportunity to raise their voices on the issues most important to them. In the course, students learn about the history of protest art and poetry and gain hands on experience with letterpress print, a technology integral to social movements for centuries. Our print shop, Press West, benefits from the contributions of Don Mayer and Heather Green at Herberger School of Arts. Nothing is censored in this course. We ask only that students craft their protest messages through research, open critique, and a careful design process.
