What process/materials did you use to create your artwork? Ink and card stock
What inspires you to create and what inspires your work? I'm inspired by merging the animal world with the human world to create an imaginative, bizarre world.
If you had to describe your artwork in 5 words or less, what words would you use? Imaginative, unique, humorous, bizarre, strange
What other artists inspire you? What's your favorite art work? One of my favorite artists is Frida Kahlo. She reaches into her imagination and creates bizarre images.
What's the best advice you've ever been given? 'You have to be your own ally.' My teacher told me this to encourage me to believe in my work even when others didn't.
What is your favorite artist tool? Photoshop and paint
What is your dream project? Filling a whole room with a life size kinetic scene of my beast characters that people can walk through and see a story unfold.
What do you like about your work? I like that it is fun and bizarre. It is a platform for me to play.
How has your practice or process changed over time? My process has become more refined over time. The more I work with the tools, the more I find ways to create more 'realistic' scenes.
What memorable responses have you had to your work? The most memorable is when I showed it to a group of children. They were laughing so hard and were so excited about it. I felt like they understood it more than adults do.
Why art? That's a hard one. It's just in me.
