Brink fell in love with the Japanese art of kintsugi and the idea of honoring change and mistakes. Her work takes it a step further by not returning the broken sculpture to its original form, but giving it new life. She takes ceramic pieces that have been discarded, breaks the piece by striking it with her grandfathers hammer (hitting the piece only once), and then configuring a way to bring the piece back to life and honoring its current state.
