Our original founder, Jane Reddin was a dedicated supporter of recycling. As a way to honor her efforts we have been piloting a new and improved recycling program in collaboration with three local restaurants –

Carly's Bistro, Paz Cantina and Short Leash Hot Dogs.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

  1. Your business/organization collects aluminum cans, plastic bottles, cardboard and glass wine bottles.
  2. We coordinate a weekly or monthly pick-up time with you.
  3. We exchange the aluminum cans, plastic bottles and cardboard for money that goes into our artist grant fund and gift the glass wine bottles to one of our artists, Ray DelMuro & Refresh Glass.

This ongoing program allows us, and YOU, to continually support a variety of valley-wide businesses and organizations, to be conscious and responsible towards our environment and to provide important, meaningful opportunities for emerging local artists!

With the money generated from the donated recycled materials Practical Art aims to create an annual grant that can be awarded to a local artist for them to create an exciting, innovative public art project made, in part, from recycled materials.

In addition, we are also a hub for recycled materials, generally. If they cannot be used through our program or network of artists we will gift reusable items to the Art Resource Center in Tempe, all other items that will be recycled.
