Superterrestrial works by Annette Janelle

Artist Reception:
First Friday, February 1st, from 7-9
Exhibition:
February 1-28

Superterrestrial is a series of porcelain sculptures depicting "living" celestial bodies. They are inspired by Earth's more unusual ecosystems, but play upon the possibility of life beyond our world that humans have daydreamed about for generations. The surreal, science-fictionesque collection speaks to the persistence of life and the value and fragility of Earth's most fascinating life forms, human imagination included.

Annette Janelle is a porcelain sculptor and ceramicist based in Payson, AZ. She has been working with clay since 2014, when she designed the Happy Kitty Mug™ and created Happy Kitty Ceramics. Prior to pursuing ceramics, Annette explored many 2-D mediums before focusing on the watercolor illustrations that helped her develop a distinctive style that has carried over into her ceramic work today.
